The Gift
How many times have I sat wondered,
What my world would like without you,
Who would make me smile like you do?
Is there anyone who can wipe my tears like you?
Love me only the way you know how,
Give me space when I need or want,


Looking back on our time together,
I know I’m the lucky one,
Who’s been given my own angel,
To take care of me when I need,
Love me for all that I am,
And more importantly what I’m not,


Even when I fall deep into myself,
You stand beside me and hold me,
Let me find my own way,
But still support me while I work it out,
In you I’ve been given a gift I treasure,
Something that is once in a lifetime,


Sometimes in the dark of the night,
I listen to you breathe,
Wonder what you are dreaming,
And hope that I can give you everything,
Give you the gifts you’ve given me,
Be your strength as you are mine.
